Following the acquisition of CarePlanner in 2023, Nourish doubled its workforce to 140 employees, and reached 220 within a year. This rapid growth put heavy pressure on their IT and asset management processes.
“We ended up with separate asset spreadsheets, each with varying levels of detail,” explained Adam. “These were labor-intensive, often outdated, and missing key information like asset history. When we doubled in size overnight, it became immediately apparent that spreadsheets couldn’t keep up.”
Adam also tried to keep track of detailed application, license and role data in a spreadsheet. "I built a multi-page spreadsheet with hundreds of rows and columns, but it was impossible to maintain. We know it wasn't something people would keep on top of, so we never actually launched it."
The growing pains of scaling with inadequate tools led Adam to look for a solution to streamline IT and compliance management.

Nathan, who joined later, reflected on similar challenges in his previous roles: "Tracking assets with spreadsheets and tools like Microsoft Intune just isn’t sustainable for an organization of this size. With constant changes in devices, licenses and ownership, it’s easy to lose track. And once an employee leaves with a device, there is no way to recover it. We were crying out for a solution like Setyl.”
The solution
The Nourish team implemented Setyl in January 2024, initially focusing on asset management, before expanding its use to include application management.
Today, Setyl provides the team with complete oversight, consolidating hardware and software management into a single platform, including:
- Full asset lifecycle management: Tracking assets from purchase to disposal, including devices and peripherals, while monitoring useful lifecycles to plan timely replacements.
- Seamless integrations with key systems: Automatically importing asset and employee information from Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot and BambooHR, and triggering workflows within Setyl.
- Effective onboarding and offboarding: Automating processes for the assignment and recovery of assets, ensuring a smooth transition when employees join and leave.
- Complete asset history and compliant archiving: Maintaining an audit trail of all changes for each asset, including for devices that have been disposed of along with their certificates of removal.
- Application and license management: Mapping software applications, and tracking roles, licence ownership and usage.
- Integrated vendor management: Streamlining vendor audits by sending questionnaires directly to vendors to complete, and centralizing all information.
- Automated employee surveys: Deploying surveys to confirm receipt of assets, creating clear audit trails and ensuring accountability during offboarding.
- Centralized document repository: Storing all asset, application and vendor documentation in one place.
- Task workflows and reminders: Managing recurring tasks such as equipment checks and compliance processes with in-built reminders.
The results
Time savings through sleeker processes
"Setyl has allowed me to save time across multiple streams, which is ultimately a business cost saving,” explained Nathan. “The integrations between our HR system, Setyl, and Azure (Entra) streamlines our workflows, automatically pumping in new assets and users, as well as things like join and leave dates. The grunt work is done for us, giving me back time to focus on more critical tasks.”
Full visibility for peace of mind
"There's a real comfort in knowing that the information I'm seeing is accurate and reliable," said Nathan. "I don't have to check spreadsheets or look through cupboards anymore. It gives me peace of mind knowing everything is in one place and it's up to date."
"It gives us a lot of confidence knowing we have the right information in Setyl. We can now actively work on filling in any gaps,” Adam added. “When evaluating different tools, I couldn't find one that allowed us to manage both our assets and our applications in one place like Setyl does.”
ISO 27001 audit ready
“Having managed the ISO 27001 for the organization in the past, I know that Setyl will make audits so much easier,” explained Adam.
“I can quickly locate any asset, see its history and access all related documents — even for assets we’ve disposed of. We’re also recording all vendor information into the platform. It brings so much visibility and efficiency. I no longer have to hunt for spreadsheets, worry about whether they’ve been updated, or scramble to piece together evidence. That’s a real benefit.”
Quick and easy onboarding
“Throughout our onboarding the team was there to hold our hand and support us at our own pace,” said Adam.
"When I first joined Nourish and was introduced to Setyl, I was hesitant, thinking ‘here’s another application I’ll have to learn.’ But in just a couple of minutes, it all made sense," said Nathan.
Collaborative and responsive support
“One of the highlights of working with Setyl has been the responsiveness and collaboration of their team,” said Adam. "With Setyl, we’re not just a number. Most systems are fixed as-is, but the Setyl team keeps us updated on progress and new features. We’ve shared a lot of suggestions, and it’s great to see them taken on board. It’s been a fantastic journey so far!"
Nathan added, "The relationship with Setyl is excellent. If we have an issue or suggestion, we simply email the team, and it’s resolved quickly. It’s refreshing not to deal with complicated support processes — it just gets done."
