Discover what's coming up next, including new app management, cost saving and compliance features.
July 30, 2024

This month, we’re excited to share a preview of what’s coming up at Setyl.

For the remainder of the year, we will be focusing on enhancing and expanding the App section of the platform (software application, license and vendor management functionalities). These updates are designed to help you streamline your day-to-day IT management, identify more opportunities to save costs, and ensure compliance.

Here are just some of the rollouts you can look forward to:

  1. More effective license user management
  2. Actionable license usage and cost-saving insights
  3. User (de)provisioning directly inside Setyl
  4. Software and asset request catalogs
  5. App security compliance at a glance

Read more about each of these upcoming features below.

1. More effective license user management

All license users will soon be managed at the application level, rather than being tied to individual application licenses.

This update will offer several benefits, improving both audit capabilities and operational efficiency, including:

  • Comprehensive user overview: View a full list of users with access to each application, regardless of their license type, in one place.
  • Efficient user import: Import all users for each application, along with their license type, role level and last activity date, as well as license spend and commitment information, into Setyl at one time.

2. Actionable license usage and cost-saving insights

Based on the newly tracked last activity date data, Setyl will automatically flag opportunities to remove licenses from users who are not actively using them.

This will help you identify potential cost savings through the reassigning or canceling of unused licenses.

3. User (de)provisioning directly inside Setyl

To help you streamline your software asset management, we are starting to offer direct connections between Setyl and selected software applications.

Not only will this ensure that accurate data is synced in real time, but it will also allow for user provisioning and deprovisioning directly inside Setyl, including automated deprovisioning based on users’ last activity dates.

4. Software and asset request catalogs

We’re developing software and asset catalogs that allow end users to log in and request access to the applications or assets they need.

These catalogs can be customized to display only the assets relevant to the user’s department or role, streamlining the request process and ensuring they can quickly find what they are looking for.

5. App security compliance at a glance

Our upcoming Compliance Overview matrix will make it easy to review key compliance information for all vendors and applications across your organization, and to identify gaps in your data at a glance. This overview will help you mitigate security risks, prepare for upcoming audits, and stay compliant.

From ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications, to where data is stored, the columns and data will be fully customizable according to your organization’s needs.
